Why would you put a b16 head on instead of the gsr head?

It's a pretty simple head swap, search the all motor forums there are how tos there I think ones even in the stickies.

Why are you putting a smaller motor's head on your gsr block? Makes no sense...

more compression, more hp, they tell me that a b16 head on a gsr block is more hp than a regular gsr head what u think

Just swapping heads won't really do anything good at all.

Much better off building the GSR head anyway.

It's an arguement over whats better said and done, but after all the times I've read both sides and motors i've built I rather a gsr head myself.

gsr heads tend to have clearance issues with after market pistons. im pretty sure that its only with high comp pistons. if your going turbo, the b16 head might be a better idea, but you wont see a whole lot more out of it. every little bit counts tho.

Type R head is bascially like a b16...all you need is the cams and you will run like a type R...

^^^same casting, just no hand port and polish job on the b16. They really didn't do to much to the heads though, just cleaned 'em up and smoothed 'em out (knocked all the casting flash off)
