Hytech B-Pipe... does it separate in the middle to make it shorter?
HT,
I bought a hytech exhaust system and i'm trying to ship it from CA to Kansas city. I have the axle back with me already and i'm trying to ship the b-pipe ECONOMICALLY as possible. I had it all packaged and everything and Fedex told my friend it's too long for regular fedex ground and i'd have to check out fedex freight
. Does anyone who has/had a hytech exhaust for 98-01 integras know whether or not the b-pipe separates in the middle so that i can fit under the fedex ground dimensions (and how i can separate the pieces)? Thanks!
Jo

no, its a one piece design like the OEM ITR bpipe
it will get categorized as an "oversized" item and will cost roughly $125 to ship
your only alternative is to cut it in half b4 you ship and then weld it back together

not a bad idea if turns out to be cheaper that way.. esp. if you know someone who can tig weld for good price and good quality work..
make sure to mark it first..

fedex will ship it...
you just have to pay the "oversize" surcharge

Jo, I know I ordered mine to be a 2 piece b-pipe, but that doesn't mean yours is. It can be shipped the way it is but it'll just cost more. I don't think I would have it modified just for the sake of shipping either. When you get it on the car swing by so I can see it and fantasize about mine.... which will be here before 2009 I hope.
my brother had to drive all the way down to san diego, a good 8 hours, to pick up his hytech exhaust because the seller couldnt ship it because he couldnt seperate the b-pipe and muffler. it was worth the drive though.
