Default MPFI swap repinning the plugs

Never messed with wiring or anything before. Just want to make sure i have the basic idea on how to do this down. From my understanding you look inside the plug at the wire you want to depin, then use something to go inside there and lift up the metal pin to release the wire right? Then just put in your new wire and press the metal back down?
