Default painted my house this last weekend.

Well I wanted to get my house painted because it was really dated looking. So I called up the local painter and had him come give me an estimate.......$3000. expletive that. I made a trip to the local hard ware store and picked up everything I needed, total price for EVERYTHING even a power washer was only $480. Thats almost $2500 bucks savings.

It ended up taking about 4 days.

Oh and no, im not renting it lol
(sorry im bad with a camera, and the sun was not workin with me)
before.

AFTER.

refinished the deck as well.

what ya think???

Gj for doing it yourself on a side note what did you think it would cost to paint a whole house? What steps did you take?I ask because people generally think its just to roll some paint on and bam thats it.

yea the green is 70's for sure, but the more modern cream trim gives it a nice mix of generations i think.

1. power wash whole house, scrape bubbling paint, and sand down any smooth surfaces(gutters doors...)
2. figure out the sq. ft. of painting surface
3. buy paint and other ****
4. tape off everything
5. paint paint paint

you will want to paint the main color first then do the trim last.

use a primer when going from a dark color to a light color.
