Default Heater stays on?

Well I removed my A/C a while back and I've been dealing with this problem but it seems like whenever I turn on my car/key on acc I can feel HEAT coming through the vents even when the switch is on zero.. Is it something with removing the a/c I forgot to do or is my heater stuck on? I can't figure it out, I checked the switches under the dash and everything.

well it might not be anything.. all cars with vents have hair come thruogh when your driving down the road.. not too much, but you can feel it.. Try driving it at night, when its cooler, and if the air that coems through is cool, you know its nothing, but if its still hot air, you've got a problem.. also, it shouldnt be that much air..

I would assume the control unit has the vents stuck open, as a result of old brittle solder points. I have the AC removed in my car and have the same issue. I just close the vents manually with the up-and-down sliders.

I have th same issue, but also when I select a different position for th air to come through (floor/defrost, doors etc.) nothing happens so I have to move th linkage manually and sometimes if comes out of position and starts blowing hot air on my feet on 90* days. my heat selector (hot/cool) gets jammed in the middle so i think it may be stuck on full heat because even on cool nights it blows hot air if the vents aren't closed. that's a sepearte issue though. i'll stop rambling because I realized i have way more problems with my heat than you do right now..

Yeah I get heat pretty much near my feet/leg area, not so much in the upper vents. It sucks, I might just throw back my a/c in next spring :/

I have the same problem with my car. When I'm at a stop I don't feel anything but once I start moving I feel it. It only comes out through the top vents though. My feet stay pretty fresh. I guess this is normal right?

Its normal, my old 92 integra did the same thing. At night or in the winter you can tell that it is just fresh air from within your engine bay. I would slap the AC back in if I was living down south, I could not imagine not having AC in the Carolinas I would rather loose the 1-2HP (off of course). I would like to see how much HP is lost when AC is on I know my car runs like s%it when its on.

There is a valve on a coolant line going to a radiator in the fan assembly. Make sure the temperature lever is hooked to that valve and that it moves, etc.

This might be normal on older preludes and integras or the guy who put my engine in didn't hitch something up so I correct myself in saying this is 100% normal. I drove last night and when I stopped I shut my air off and I did not feel anything. I would try what flyrod said it sounds much more logical but they are old cars so you never know. Try to find someone with the same model/year.

Try this go to your passenger seat and look under the dash were the hot cold control cable ends there it should be connected to a lever make sure that it is connected and move it manually by hand to see if the heater doors open and close next check the same cable in your engine bay as someone stated above. Next find the cables that connect to your ac unit control and make sure they're not loose and on a lot of preludes these wires need to be resoderd into their sockets.
