4spd shift knob

Default 4spd shift ****

hey guys i got an 88 hatch. i swaped out the shitty 4spd for an Si 5spd. i want to also replace the shift ****. but the shift **** doesnt want to unscrew. is it pressed in or am i going to have to take it out and force it. i dont want to force it while it is still in the car and connected to the tranny.. any ideas?? thnx alot guyz

WD40? or look for a little screw un the side near the bottom that is preventing the **** from turing

either that or quit being grily man

If its the same as the 5sp, it should twist off, no screws. Unless you have an aftermarket ****, then it probably has allen screws holding it.

Get a pair of vice grips, pull down the shift boot, grab into the shift arm with the vice grips, and pull. Hold the vice grips so youre not reefing on the shift arm.

yea its prob just stuck man, heh these cars are 17 years old. my 5 speed **** was a mother to get off, just put some elbow grease on it.
