Default accord 97 suspension

Hi, I own a 97 accord, and lately front suspension is making noise. In normal driving, I can go over a speed bumper without any sound, but in rough (non perfectly flat) streets, sometimes it makes a fast repeated, knocking sound. Went to the honda stealership, and the owner himself eye checked it, said that everything seems to be ok, so the reason could be the "bump stop". He is going to charge me 200$ for the job, when the parts only represent 60$. I really want to know if that is the reason for sure, or if anyone has experienced something similar and solved it doing something different. (I've seen 98 civics doing the same sound).

Thanks

Abilio Marques

The bump stop is a little tan/white piece at the top of the suspension assembly that stops the thing from bottoming out, maybe yours is loose/damaged?

Labor wise that's probably correct.

Sounds crazy but my wheel covers make a ton of noise on rough streets. It might be worth a shot to take them off and drive around?
