del sol bass woes, whare to put the sub?
does anyone have any good pictures of a del sol with subs in it?
Does the trunk even make sense? Won't it be louder outside than in the seats?
Where else can i put a sub? There is really no room behind the seat do do anything non-custom, and i am not sure i want to give up the 2 compartments behind the seat.
Thanks for your help.

I have a 93 Del Sol with 2 12" Subs in the trunk, it works well, but you wont have much trunk space, and if you ever wanted to put the roof in the trunk, its a tight squeeze. i had to take the entire back paneling out to put the wiring through, which isnt that hard, but its a pain in the ***. i can put some pictures up if you want me to.

pretty much the only way to make subs sound decent in a sol is something like the stealthbox, or custom with bigger/more powerful subs.
You've got a Sol. Space is of a premium in cars like that. It'll be tough to squeeze a sub in a convenient location. IMO, I'd ditch the sub in favor of having space for, i dunno, a clean shirt, or whatever will fit, lol
In the trunk, in a custom box sounds like your best bet to retain as much space as possible and still get a good sound. But a sub that's too powerful will jostle everything loose in a tiny car like that, and you may not enjoy the proceeding rattliness of your ride.

The JL unit is very expensive. And only contains two W3 8's, I think thats a pretty big ripoff.
A custom made design will look cleaner and have better sound. I guess that you can tell that I'm not a very big JL fan.

why bass a del sol?
then you couldnt hear your exhaust roaring down the roads....in your case probly fart can roaring down the street
IMO dont put any in the del sol, bass is obnoxious and is for people who want attention...like emo haircuts and cutting yourself

Seriously guys, stealthbox it. The trunk solutions are all half-assed. You lose trunk space, a way to store the lid, and oh yeah, the trunk on a Sol is pretty well sealed, so most of your bass doesn't even make it to the passenger cabin. The Stealthbox puts the thump where you want it, behind your seats and pointed at your body.
I don't work for JL or anyone related to them, but I've had Stealthboxes in most of my cars, and damn I love them.
