Changing oil in 2002 manual transmission
How do I change the tranny oil in my 2002 civic lx sedan with manual tranny?
Also the same question for my wife's 2000 civic sedan but automatic tranny.
And yes, I want to do it myself.
I've new to this group so be gentle.

I know I saw a write up on this somewhere... try the search feature, it's your friend
It should be put in the DIY FAQ though... whatcha think Matt? anybody seen a write up for this... I think it would fit right along with the engine oil change

It says how to do it in your owners manual, I belive. Other wise get down there and find the lowest bolt that doesn't connect the transaxle to the engine, this should be the drain bolt, then there is a large bolt slightly above this which is the fill bolt. Get 2 quarts for the manual and a funnel with a long hose attached. Fill until it starts running out.
there is a drain plug at the bottom of the tranny, drain all of the fluid and put the plug back on. then you will see a plug further up on the tranny, that is the fill hole, keep filling until fluid starts to come out. should be about 3 liters
EDIT: you beat me to it

It's a pretty simple procedure, and when this was posted my mind went completely blank but as always H-T comes to the rescue... but remember lower your car back down when you fill it, always want to fill fluids when you car is level

I'll see what I can do about mocking up a tutorial for the D17. I was thinking I could show how to do it, rather simply. But, then I was like, yeah how could I help.
Luckily enough, I know a couple people in my local area that still have theirs, so all hope is not lost.

Well, yeah?
Just kidding, I'm still interested in helping the D17 chaps and ladies, simply because there's a lot to learn about the engine.
