THOUGHTS ON OB2 MOTORS IN OBD1 CHASSIS OR OBD1 ECU
Ok so I have seen several post on people doing obd2 motors trying to convert to obd1 now I am just wanting to put this to rest cause the one guy I have talked to said that some people telling one thing and others telling him diffrent so lets hear it.
My first statement will start with a crank sensor will produce a square wave regardless wheater it is built in the dist. or sitting on reluctor wheel on crank. if you use a scop to look at crank sensor you will see it is no diffrent all that matters is pin out on ecu which with at least obd1 p72 in a eg is the exactly same pin.
IAT also uses resistance to determine air temp regardless of if it is in the manifold or in the air duct the sensor works the exact same. signal wire just needs to go to the right pin out on ecu.
so those are just a few of my points please lets clear the air and mystery of obd2 motors and obd1 ecus
Thanks
