Default straight pipes

hey guys im just curious about straight piping my exhaust. How much horse you think it would add? Give me your opinions on straight pipes

Ab-so-*******-lutely-useless.

Unless its a track only car. And then you need to check the noise ordinance rules.

You will gain no noticeable power at all. Just noise.

Not only will the gain be minimal like 5 horsepower, you will lose mid range power
were you drive the most on the street. What motor are you running.

straight pipes?...as in no cat, no resonator, and no muffler? you will gain no noticable power and your car will sound like a raspy piece of ricer bullshit...i dont suggest it. stock exhaust flows just fine

so are bends in full exhausts like nice ones made and "tuned for power" not just maximum airflow? sorry for the noob questoin. and plese dont put straight pipes on they sound so horrid.

yea man talk about rasp to the max.
dont do it you will notice a little lag on mid range power. Ive done it I know. well atleast it felt a bit weaker to me from the 3500 to5000rpm point.

yes it makes power dont know how much but there is.....do a straight pipe with stock muffler.... sounds nice.........i have a stock si had it on and killed other stock si like nothing....

Agreed, no cat/resonator with stock muffler is nice. No restrictions and it flows alot smoother. Also, leave the stock muffler, anything else will be extremely ricer loud.

Hey lee0149, what size piping were you running? The stock pipe?

I dont have a cat or resignator with a stock pea shooter muffler and it sounds nice...plus i get really good mid-range power...matter of fact...the flow is pretty smooth throught the whole range...my car is stock and kills other stock Si's like nothing...
