I don't want to spend 150 on a camber kit, so i was going to do the rear washer trick. I went to lowes and home depot and they didn't have the 10x1.25x45 bolts that i needed. I had to order special grade 8 bolts from somewher else and they will be in on thursday.

anyway i bought 1/2 washers. Ive read that people use their stock bolts and have no problem. I figured i would use 2 1/2 inch washers for each bolt. Can i use my stock ones or should i wait?

btw my car is a ej8 and it's lowerd about 2" in the rear

 

Just wait for the appropriate bolts. Try not to drive more than you have to if you're worried about tire wear.

1 washer per bolt per inch is the general rule of thumb.

So 4 washers on each side in the rear should be adequate.

One of the best bang for buck mods IMO. Safer than an after market cheapo camber kit if you ask me.

 

Be patient, and rest easy knowing that you have an adequate number of threads holding your rear upper control arm on your vehicle.

ha alrite guys thanks for your help. I i'll just wait. But 1/2 washers are the correct size i should have bought right? i see some people used 3/8's but they seemed to tiny for me. so i figure two 1/2 washers should do the trick for me

3/8 are the correct size for the bolts.

 

i'll go get some of them then, any suggestions on how many i should use? i have -2.5 camber in the rear

 

i just did the rear washer trick. i used 2 3/8 inch washers for each bolt. I put a level up to my rear wheel after i was done, and the bubble wasn't in the middle, it was like 1/4 in the middle. Should i put another washer on?

note: the car seemed to roll better, but that could have been in my head

 

The rule of thumb is 1 washer per inch lowered.

I'd try 3 if you want.

But for handling purposes you WANT a little camber. Your tires will still wear evenly.

 

yea i followed the 1 per inch rule, its lowered like 2 inches, i know a bit of camber is good, and i'd like to keep that, i just wanted to know if you guys measured yours with a level and if it was like mine
