My friend wants to sell me some used TEIN Basic Coilover. Its been used for about 1 year. and He said he cut off about 10MM of the upper part of the front shock absorber screws cause he was installing some strut bar. Does this affect it in any way? he says it doesn't though. He wants about $400-450 for it. What do you guys think? good deal or just buy some other brand new with that money? thanks guys!! =P

 

for 450.. just add 150 more and you can buy some new basics. suspension wise id always buy new.

 

Probably not the best idea to purchase used suspension parts. For another couple hundred dollars (if you aren't on a tight budget) you can buy you a set of nice coilovers like omni/d2s or brand new TEIN basics. Try searching around for some prices before considering to buy from your friend. You would almost be better off to go with a GC/Koni Yellow setup.

Peace of mind in knowing you purchased quality parts that come with a warranty is more important than throwing away a few hundred bucks to only have to replace things later. You truly do get what you pay for.

Honestly, your best bet is saving and buying new.
