I just purchased an '04 Accord 4 cyl with 22,000 miles on it. I noticed one thing almost immediately. Every few minutes a loud jumping/throbbing sound comes from under the hood, and usually the headlights will dim when it does this. It will do this for a few seconds and then stop, and a few minutes later do it again.

I thought it was just in idle, but it will also do it when driving as well. I'm kinda worried, since I just bought it and it's only got 22k miles on it. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

CHECK TO SEE IF ITS THE FAN RIGHT BEHIND YOUR RADIATOR MAYBE?

dude your not giving a good enough desription, so expect some bump answers, why dont u try exactly where the sound is comin from? like get your ear under the hood would be a start.

 

Open the freeking hood and check it out. "Under the hood" could be a lot of things.
