my 97' LS has been misfiring for awhile... i dont know what it could be i have replaced the distributor, wires, plugs, and checked my timing... it all started happening after i let my buddy detail the engine bay and he powerwashed it and later that day i found that there was standing water in each cylinder by my plugs.. i got all of the water out of there and it still has the problem... it only occurs when my rpm's are under 3k... i have also done a compression check and everything is ok? any suggestions i thought maybe injectors?

 

start checking your sensors and see if there is water in any the plugs, the water could have ruined a sensor...

 

are you thinking like an 02 sensor? what ones should i look at first

 

could be a few, i had similiar problems and each time was different sensor, i had problems with my TPS sensor, map sensor and o2 sensor

 

Check the CELs. Your OBDII '97 should be able to tell you which cylinders are misfiring. There is a how to in the forum FAQ thread.

 

i have also been noticing that when i am at WOT is when it seems to bog down and misfire the most... sometimes when im goin inot first from a dead stop the car will start to jump like its not gettin enough fuel or something?

 

Pull the CELs and replace your fuel filter.
