Prelude JDM headlights question
Does anyone have a the diagram/picture that is supposed to be here:

Im trying to do a headlight install and wanted some peoples opinions. Is it worth the trouble to wire the H4 by its self for bright/low beams or does it make just as much sense to wire the H1 as high beam and only use the H4 for low beam? Sorry if I confused any one...Im slightly confused as well.

If you decide to use the H4 for low beam and H1 for high beam PasswordJDM.com sells a plug and play conversion harness so you don't have to chop up your factory harness.
Yeah i ordered some 9005/9006 harnesses and H4/H1 harnesses to make some myself so I dont have to chop with which ever way I go. The Low beam H4 and High beam H1 just seems to be easier.

I dunno about that, I personally like the safety of having my wiring properly soldered and heat shrinked so that no water gets in and the connection cant come loose. I just did h4 as lows and h1 as highs, works fine for me.

yea i spliced and crimped to female connectors and electric taped them but not good enough i guess

But wouldn't that give power to both the high and low filaments in the H4 bulbs when the highs are on? Because that can overheat the bulb

For starters I have to say that "City Lights" H1 bulbs are very bright and should be used as a separate switch, could be combined with fog lights. This mentioned, let's concentrate on the H4 bulbs.
The trick here is to know the arrangement of the H4's since they have only 3 wires (GND, HIGH BEAM, LOW BEAM). The problem here is that our stock harness (USDM) have two cables per plug and not three as mentioned above. It was practically overwhelming when thinking on how to do this conversion; however, the trick was to know that the H4's don't have polarity. Either forward or reversed electric flow can be arranged.
Let's concentrate on the Left Headlight H4 bulb. You can see that on the H4 connector we have one common ground for both High Beam and Low Beams; therefore, taking a closer look at the Left Headlight we see that we have one common power source (Low/High). This said, man I can't help smiling , by connecting both Low/High wires together and soldering it to the negative connector on the H4 it will give you the a common Power Source to both High/Low beams just like the diagram. Finally, the Low Beam is connected to the Low Beam H4 connector and the High Beam is connected to the High Beam H4 connector.
RIGHT SIDE HEADLIGHT IS VICE VERSA - instead of Low/High wires you use the Low/High wires.
Sorry to use your picture but I THINK this is what this is trying to say.
