I recently swapped my d-series for a b and switched over the shift linkage and now for some reason i cant get it to go into reverse, sometimes i'll get lucky but 9 out of 10 times it wont. Any input will help thanks

Move the shifter to the right, then pull back.

all the other gears work fine?

sometimes mine won't pop in and letting the clutch out and in a time or two helps.

get under the car and see if you can get it in reverse by moving the linkage. if you can then something is wrong with your shifter. if it doesn't it may be internal problems with your transmission.

mine doesnt LIKE reverse, like sitting on an incline u have to cram it in, did u get a used shift linkage?

 

my 00 si was a lil tricky so when i wanted it yo go in i would put it in neutral and move it sideways *someone told my it clears the syncros *idk but then it would go in

 

There's no reverse synchro.

Just pump the clutch and you should be fine.

 

work the clutch just a little. every 5 speed ive ever owned ive had to do that.

 

i put it in 4th then reverse

 

try 3rd to reverse...its never failed me in any honda...

 

yes i did buy used linkage and i have tried almost everyhting that you guys have said like today it doesnt want to go into 1st or 2nd, i might jsut try and pick a trans.... but idk

 

I always go first to reverse
