Default my motor is dead!!!

My engine builder re-adjust my valve last week and now my engine died yesterday at the track...can some bad valve adjustment cause this??? I dont have pictures and the head is gone with my engine builder to see what went wrong...i went 1st gear, 2,3 and at 7500rpm in 3rd the car lost power...i turn the ignition off and start it back and heard that trrrrrrrrr sound...timing was not touch, camshaft are ok, springs and retainer too, 3 pistons are still good but all the 4 valve seat needs to be redone, the block only have 4000km since the rebuilt i hope my builder arrange me something with the warranty Ill update pictures later on this week!!! Its a really sad story

Id say its POSSIBLE that adjusting the valves rediculously tight could cause interfearance issues... But it would be something that would become a problem the first time you hit Vtec or cracked into it. Without knowing a whole lot about the build, I couldn't tell you much more.

If you ran at ZERO lash, chances are probably better that something got extra hot in that particular cylinder, and that was the cause of your issues. Unless youre running ridiculously tight P2V clearances, you should have more than .007-.009 of p2v.

All the exhaust valve went touch all the pistons...but it was only the valves on the #4 cylinder and the piston #4 that were all fucked up...and the lower part of the spark plug #4 was cut...

If your engine ran on 4 cylinders you had valve clearance. The differance between .002 and .007 should make no differance at 7500 RPM as you claimed. At 10,000 yes, 7500 No.

Yeah one cylinder and one piston...but all the rest of the piston mess up the rest of the other cylinders and the other 3 pistons...all that on a 4000km rebuilt motor...only my engine builder touch the motor after it was in the car...he just adjust my valve last week-end Hope he come up with something to help me out...it wa snot a mishift and it was clearly not my fault!!!

Its hard to blame the builder when you are racing.

It is even possilbe for a piece off the throttle body or trash or anything to get sucked up the intake and lodge itself inside the head and cause the valve to stay open, this happens. Trust me, **** happens. Ever seen a pro AM car's engine blow on a dyno? 10k down the drain,R&D is m-fer.

What did you tune it with? Did you tune it all the way to 10k before you went racing with it? What octane were you running, the list goes on and on. Easy to blame the guy who put it together. Easily could be his fault, but parts fail, **** happens, welcome to racing.

The set-up was not tune to 10k but was making power up to 8900...fuel cut at 9200...never went at that mark...tuned on hondata s100 since the month of june, tuned and never used nothing else then 94octane...never had trouble with the engine before that day with lots of drag racing!!! Motor was strong...im just dissapointed that ive done my valve adjustement and after maybe 200km boom the engine blow A built like ive done should last a lot and a lot more then 4000km
