I just finished changing the thermostat on 95 d15b hatch. I turned on the car to let it idle for a couple minutes. Car idled perfectly for about two minutes then when I came back to look at it . . . It just shut off. Car has power, gas, idles fine, no kill switch (that I'm aware of), alternator and distributer are new and I haven't previously had any problems with this.

Car turns over and powers on but engine doesnt start.

Car just won't turn back on . . . !?!? Suggestions?

Anyone?

Check the grounding wire on or near the thermostat housing.

 

no go .. .made sure it was tight .. still doesnt start

 

check for spark?

 

Timing belt?

 

I dont know if you know what a noid light is but is a light that has two pins one postive side of injector and one negitive side of injector if you got fuel pressure on the rail it dosent mean that its getting in to the clynder so as you turn the motor over you should see this light blinking as injector opens and closes then make sure you got compression cause motor cant run without compression. then spark make sure you got a good spark if you have all these things theres no way the vehicle cant run. most hondas use a built in crank\cam sensor inside the distrubter and some use a crank sensor inside timing cover either way car cant run without crank sensor. it can run without a cam signal but it will just run like ****. but if you have spark then more than likley you crank sensor is good and injector pluse then your cam sensor is good. dosent mean that it deffently is but more than likely. through all that you should fine something. good luck

 

check your ignition coil because that happened to me and my boy...and car turned on no problem after that

 

There is spark . . . . side note, yesterday I bought a new distributer and still no luck.

press the gas ?? do you have fuel pressure?

 

1. When you turn the key to IGN1 (Accessory) does the check engine light come on and go out after 2 seconds?

2. Do you hear the fuel pump prime?

 

did you change your igniter??maybe it that..sounds like the same thing that happend to me..
