Default Help. Urgent. Thanks.

What way do the 1 1/4 inch nuts turn on the hubs of a 1993 honda civic Hatchback. Trying to get the axles out and am having a little trouble. we've went through 2 breaker bars, with cheater bars, used liquid penetration, just want to make sure we're turnin the right way. haha. Thanks everyone.

Lefty loosey just like most other bolts and nuts. If you can't get it off, maybe you should invest in some *****. If you can't find any real men, I suggest getting either a 3/4 inch ratchet and the corresponding socket or air tools and a tank that can handle 120psi of air feed.

took hub/axle off, taking to les schwab to have do it, have broke 3 breaker bars with 265 lb guy standing on 5 foot cheat bar. haha. things werent coming loose.

good note: engine is in car, have to buy intake, z6's isnt fitting, power steering didnt fit (bracket on the way) AC bracket wasnt there, missing pulley, dropped AC, sound system wired, need new radiator o clamps to ensure tight fit, have to make own throttle cable bracket... skunk2 adjustable coilovers ready to be installed, fronts are done, back to be done tomororw. So, project swap almost done, 44 pictures so far, more to come, will post them all at once.

everybody's **** is dif, i highly doubt you could do this nut with you're 1954 ratchet, considering we were using a 5 foot cheater and went through 3 breaker bars, i doubt this one could be done w/o air tool, we've romped on it, used liquid penetration, torch, all the stops, its just really in there. lol.

come down here, undo it, ill laugh when you break your tools.

Default Drifting your Axle Nut...

Have you tried to undo the indentation in the raised shoulder of the Axle Nut?

Just checking...

I've only done the rear, but I can remember wasting a lot of time trying to remove it without doing so. None of the Punch/Drift/Chisel tools were working for me (they were too wide to fit in the recessed part of the Spindle), so I finally sacrificed a small Chrome-Vanadium Screwdriver to do so.

I first hammered it into the hole, then banged outward (away from the center) to straighten the shoulder out. I imagine there's a good chance you'll damage the last part of the threading of your Axle/Spindle if you simply try to muscle/impact it off, but plenty of people have done so "without problems"...

Again, I've only done it in the rear ( ), but it helped tremendously to un-indent that bitch before trying to remove it...

Let us know how things go...
