I took my horns (Many fords use 2 horns) off my explorer and put them on my civic. When I connected it (It's 2 horns mounted on one bracket making it 1 unit), that thing made me JUMP like a ****. It stayed on, and with the shock of the friggin scare, I couldn't think straight in those few seconds. It left a ringing in my ears for a while. Imagine sitting on the floor comfy with your legs crossed, relaxed, cutting and splicing wires, and out of nowhere, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK! Those horns are LOUD when not sitting behind a bumper and right in front of your face
For some reason civics (maybe all hondas) have the horn system operating in reverse (or they function in reverse).. like... the positive wire is constant, but the negative isn't. It's weird in a way. Whatever you do, make sure you didn't ground the horn to the frame.
Fords, their horns have 2 wires. One positive and one negative. Like any normal thing in a car, the ground is always connected/grounded, and the positive is connected to either a switch or button, and when activated, power is applied
I know for a FACT that you have your horn connected to a constant ground.

I just re-read the post and I was explaining how the horn itself connects and not the button, but at least with that concept you know that something is reversed somehow or... blah.. I'll try to help in a sec. Have to take my sis to work right now.
BTW the site doesn't load.

yeah iam getting a shock when i touch the wire to contact, i have it wired the same way the guy has it in the pics in that link i posted, so im kinda wondering maybe the horn conections ar different from eg to ek?...cuz i have a ek, but the link is for eg....although my cruise works great.
everything works now...apparently i needed some sleep...working on your car with like 2hrs sleep makes for really easy stupid mistakes
