Default Just a little tech question.

So i had to bring back to life a roller crx. Harness's were missing, hack and all the good stuff. So i get it to were i think today im going to put some juice through it to make sure nothing burns down. So i hook everything up turn the key and nothing so im like hm no power is even getting through. So i turn to key all the way and there was a little relay clicking. I dont have anything on my motor hook up IE dizzy, starter. So it wasnt going to fire. I found the relay and just clicks. So figured im getting some kind of power into the dash harness but nothing on the gauges or anything else.

I know its bold but anyone have any clues on where i can start. Maybe the hot wire that comes in so i can see where its bringing power into and not going.

Eh something small. That would have been good to know. It was more so in the middle of the dash harness. Lankyish.

There is nothing really in the middle of the dash that would keep the car from not starting, relay wise that is. Sure you are getting good power, when you are getting weak power, from a ground or a bad wire, or bad battery, relays will click on and off cause there not getting enough power to stay opened or closed

I will have to check the battery. It was good last time i check. And to think of it that was a problem before with the mustang. I will put a charge on it and see. Go back over everything and make sure its grounded. Figured i ask. Plus i was bored.

And yes it was more so the middle. I dont have the dash on so it could belong somewhere else. But it come off by the gauge harness and went towards the pass side. None off the relays on the driver side by the fuse box.

There is nothing over there really that would cause it not to get power to the starter, unless you are talking near the ignition switch

Wasnt trying to get power to the starter. I first wanted to just see if i can get power through out the car. Mainly to make sure the people before me didnt put something backwards and start on fire. I wasnt getting anything. O well.

Bob you have EF ecu pinout diagraph link, more so i can see what color and what not are on the harness side.

Near the ecu ? Go pick up a manual from autozone, they have all the pin outs in there, pretty good actually for some things, had to do it with my car.

Well i feel really stupid. After go through some things with my test light and volt meter i came to the conclusion i didnt have any engine grounds hook up. Yeah yeah yeah, rookie mistake. Guess thats what happens when you buy a roller messing lots of **** back in November and finally getting around to finishing it almost a year later. Just was giving a little heads up. Thanks Bob, My black token friend Brandon, and Sired.
