A swap question
I know read through the sticky, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for.
The bottom end of my z6 took a dump, a local yard says they have a single cam vtec d series motor, just didn't feel like reading off the engine code I guess.
If I go there and see that it is a y8 what am I going to need to do to get it to run in my 92 Si?

I have no idea how to get a Y8 block to work.
The OBD-I (5th gen) D-series blocks (the B7 and the Z6) had oil jets in the back for VTEC. The Z6 head utilizes this oil jet for VTEC to engage.
The Y8 blocks don't have it, there's no a jet, and there's ano a plug jet like in the B7's.
So I have no idea how to get the Y8 block to work with the Z6 head unless you wanna drop 800 on a LS/VTEC conversion kit.

rewire the dizzy
plus the y8 has several sensors that the z6 does not, that if you use the y8 ecu, need to be wired in.
alternator needs to be swapped or rewired
on mine the drivers mount on the engine itself is different but my swap is a little different too haha
probably a few more things im not remembering
