What does everyone think of the new season 2007 shows on speed? They dont cover but maybe 2 mins of drag racing but cover 40 mins of drifting and 15 of other BS. The gateway coverage had to be the absolute worse IMO with 95% drift or watching Blake? fix his 350z I was hoping for somthing better this year.

 

If you like to watch the coverage of horribly modded/sticker covered/ridiculously painted cars and foam parties then i would say it gets an A++

But if your like the rest of us that like to watch the races they fail miserably.

 

for the drag racer it blows a fat one.

 

im hoping to tune in and atleast get 50% racing. but i usally just watch the first few minutes and then turn to something else. hopefully more racing can be covered next season. If SPEED is behind the final production then they are out to destroy Sport Compact Drag Racing. I dont even see IHRA as much as I have the past few seasons. Touring cars are nonexistence. I think the whole speed line up sucks.

 

It's TV, and we all know that TV is all about $$$$$$ and sex and flashy stuff sells, end of story. It's all about Money, and don't forget it's been said before that NOPI gts absolutely no say in what gets shown on the show so please direct your blame in the right direction. Email SPEEDTV and let them know you want to see more race action

we all admit to watching though, you cant stand to miss any part of the "upcoming bikini contest"

 

its very sad to here your looking forward to watching the bikini contest cause those broads spend 40$ on a shoestring and we spend tens of thousands of dollars and we get spit on when it come to tv time and some chick paying off <leasing> some aftermarket ***** from dr. 90210 get the limelight, i just think it sucks anyways just my 2 cents!

 

I haven't watched it in years....ever since Dalene left....hahaha

 

I only watch because Charity Hodges has big boobies, but then I heard her perform her "songs" (haha, I just puked for realz).


I want teh sexy time, just don't let her near my mic.

 

The MIR coverage from this year was great. Had alot on drag racing and even showed the sportsman finals.

 

I can't believe how well they edited the gateway footage, made it look like a ton of people were there.

It's improved over what it used to be but it still sucks. I don't need to be told how nice the leather is in a Ferrari, sorry.

I just watched the show and I did not see any drag racing, but alot of drifing & *****.

 

Nopi Tunnervision sucks for drag racing. To watch the St. Louis race of 6-9-07 you need to watch the Denver coverage and then u can see 2 races the dragster and the supra then is 29 minutes of crap

Nopi driftervision st. louis coverage was quite disappointing to say the least.

They only showed footage of sunday afternoon, which it had rained briefly that morning and so the attendance was down compared to saturday (which had alot more people, it was like a min. hour or more wait just to get in).

I am not a big fan of show cars but there was a couple very nice, totally built honda's they did not show because I guess they looked to normal. Maybe they should have added some neons, chrome trim, and rediculous wheels instead of the turbo setup/ built motor...

Can we say drifting is annoying to watch for the ENTIRE episode... for god sakes... and if it got anymore clippy and short bursts of footage, I was gonna have a siezure. Hell they did not even show but a quick flash of terry hogan and nick, yet they were the life of that drifting event IMO.

Can we say no drag racing, WTF! We see the ecotec dragster make a pass and thats it, seriously ghey. I know alot of teams were at the NHRA event but there still was a good showning of drag cars from import to domestic.

The nopi chick looked like she put on her makeup with a putty knife or a trowel... seriously better looking and more intelligent girls could have been interviewed. She was an idiot and looked like her makeup mask of a face was gonna crack. Hell their coverage of the bikini contest and whatnot was lacking to say the least... believe me...

I could go on but you get my point... they suck... and agian WTF is with all the shitty drag racing coverage now... end rant.

NOPI sucks big time. that show is garbage. Speed tv does not care or want to reach out to import drag racing.

I'd like to see a show more like Horsepower TV for imports. Have a segment on how-to's and a segment covering drag racing.

^^^^^ Hell yea I watch horsepower TV and muscle car all the time I wish their was something like that for imports.

We got close once on horsepower when they installed all the boltons and N20 on the teal EG but that's it, but it's funny because in the opening credits for horsepower they show the old school Drivers Image civic doing a burnout.

NopiTunervision is pretty bad, everyone likes the bikini stuff but just show some more g0d damn drag racing........... none of this ricer bullshit........

I don't mind drifting but the show didn't even showcase it. If you saw any of the Formula D coverage G4 used to have, you'd have a general idea of what drifting coverage should be. Show the matchups, runs, maybe a small interview, but at least you can follow what is happening at the event. With the drifting they basically showed a ton of clips, 10 minutes of that Blake guy (who drove like a complete idiot btw), and then said who won. Why not at least show HOW those people won? Makes sense right? I'm not a big fan of drifting but if you're going to show it at least show us it right.

Hogan didn't even qualify for the event but they still managed to show him more than some people that did. Doesn't surprise me at all but i'm assuming if he qualified they would of shown him 10x more.
