Fidanza makes the lightest (pls no arguements with light vs durability) @ 7lbs, I think OEM is 14lb. Fun times and very humbling experience when paired with a race clutch. I think there's a myth I read on one of the mags with every 1lb fly reduced = 2.4hp gained. I don't believe it to that extent but it does make the car feel faster because of the less rotation mass / quicker gear.
Food for thought, seems more accurate: http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/f...s.htm

It's a little different. The S2000's stock flywheel weighs almost as little as some civic lightened flywheels. I think the ACT street for those cars is 13lbs? Putting a 7lb flywheel on really any car would make it SO undriveable. Forget durability.
I think it would be annoying to drive in traffic. The S2000's revs pick up and drop so fast with a stock flywheel. Race car or Street car....decide before you start modding. This can be the difference in annoying vs. fun (on the street).
thanks.

I've been running a Fidanza + ACT HDSS kit for over 18k miles now and it's streetable for sure. You MUST pay way more attention even when starting off on slight inclines/driveways but that's a small price to pay for how it runs once in gear. My girlfriend drives it so it can't be that bad! My only gripe with this setup is the amount of noise from either the clutch disc or tranny itself during decel. I've never heard the infamouse 'clutch buzz' on old AP1's but this must be worse than that.
If you're into drag racing/street racing at all, forget about it and stick with the OEM flywheel. This car is hard enough to launch when it's stock. I also don't valet or let the carwash guys drive it because of this clutch setup....maybe it's not soo streetable afterall

LOL sounds like me. Running the Fidanza + 6puck sprung clutch myself for almost 1.5 years. Without attention to easing on clutch or gas, it snaps or has a loud hmmm from the spooling. Valet guys have no problem stalling or causes a nasty groan as it engages. - Definitely not for the average driver but IS streetable. Launching is very rough on the drivetrain with race clutches.

I have this exact setup and agree. The engagement is all the way at the top of the pedal (first inch of travel) and happens quickly. The lighter flywheel also means the car is easier to stall. Put both together, and you can look pretty dumb.
On the other hand, I love the strength of the clutch on the track (solo, road course, and drag strip). It's very positive, but I blew a diff while running 275mm rear tires: I guess the rear end was the fuse in the drivetrain. If I upgrade the diff, what's the next weakest link in the drivetrain?

i'd say the tranny ( synchros or retainers )
people LOVE when the clutch grabs / engages HARD but noone ever thinks about what happens inside the tranny. gears spinning @ 8k then ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPING!...hard on the internals ( BUT MAKES FOR A FUN *** DRIVE)
