Default 24.5 inch vs 26 inch Slicks

Currently using 24.5 inch M&H Slicks with 15 inch Spin Werkes Drag Rims.

Is bigger always better,

Must I go 26 inch? will that improve times?

thanks

Going to a 24.5x9x13 would improve your times since you would have more sidewall than with 15's. You COULD improve your times with the 26's IF you have enough power and also can keep from breaking tranny/drivetrain parts

i heard that going to 26's will increase your risk of breaking parts. You will need at least 600 + hp to make the 26's effective

Oh, I don't know about that. How many peeps here make 600 HP out of the hole to 60'? I think you would still murder the 26's if you launched with 600 HP.

Haha funny you say that, Garry Eng just ran NOPI this past weekend on 24.5x9x13s on a Turbonetics Single stage boost controller, he is over 600whp . He went 9.70@156mph

Edit:OH he murdered the 24.5s out the whole too though so

Hi 200TS EC, you can go up to our M&H 8.7/25-13, if you do not want to go to our M&H 8.5/26-13 either way you will hook up nice. I have racers out their that are running our 26" tall slicks and have no problems.

Good Luck and be SAFE.

Hi IT's ME DAVID: It's the 8.7/25-13 M&H and it's better.

even though i havent made a real clean pass this year on my setup, but last year i was on the 24.5 x 8.5 x 15 m and h's they worked well but it was due to the 15" wheel. this year on the good launches i have made, the car bit way harder, on the 25 x 8.7 x 13's.

I've ran the 26/8.5-13 for over two years and had no prblems breaking parts with them..However to be legal for competeion wise, id like to get back down to a 24.5 or 25..
