Finally... got it loaded (thanks CSi), it's 11megs, 3mins (25fps; mpeg1)... chopping video. I'll figure out how to make it better quality and smaller size.

Make sure you save it... it'll probably run better.

i convert alot of my video to .wmv when sharing over the internet. you can set the quality level for the .wmv file. obviously the better the quality, the larger the file size.

i think the reason your video is choppy is that your losing frames when you capture the video to your PC from your video camera. there is a setting you can use to make the capture less choppy. i have the instruction manual at home that tells you what to do. i'll try to post it tonight before i head out of town.

Nice Video. how many different runs was this on?
I noticed sometimes the heads up display is on and sometimes it's not.

 

About the Video segments:
It covered three different track days. One at Pahrump, NV (SMMP) during a SCCA sanctioned PDS, another at SMMP but sanctioend by Speedventures.net, and another day at LVMS in Las Vegas, NV.

About the Viper:
Nope, never caught him. He was running hoosiers and is a pretty good driver... whereas I was running v700s and street brake pads (reason why I couldn't outbrake him)...

About the HUD:
What a waste of money. Defi VSDII unit... nice but not what I was expecting. So, I got rid of it about 8 months ago...

About the choppiness:
Blah, it's got to be the compression. On my computer at home, it runs very fluid before compiling it...

I'm new to this whole computer video stuff I originally had a 4m30s video that was 80megs... someone said that was too big...

I'll probably rework the video tonite and replace the current file.... it's at 25fps, i'll see how 30fps will jump the file size. If it's too big, then I have a problem with sending it via email...

 

you can alwas chop the file up into smaller file sizes and e-mail it like that, there is a program called EasySplit that will slit files to smaller sizes. What are you using to render the video?
You can try different codecs and or lowering the resolution of colors.
I can send you a copy of the program to split files, let me know.

 

is there a way to convert video from a video camera to a computer? I know there is a way but dont know how, i got some races i want to convert from the track the other night. I know i need to buy some stuff and this is probably not the place to ask, but Im thinking driven had to do it and some of you know. What performance increase do you think YOU would feel with your setup if you added CTR cams, adj. cam gears, and a limited slip diff.?????

basically you need a capture card if the video camera doesn't store the video digitally. i think a good TV card can do capturing.

i have a digi vid cam so i just had to buy a firewire car to connect my PC to my camera to do captures...

the CTR cams and cam gears would just boost power... it would just making acceleration in the straights quicker...the REAL difference is a LSD...

LSD is in the near future after i replace my shocks and springs.... it makes a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference
