SELLING THE R 1235. SHOULD I?
I was toying with the thought of selling the R. i have had the car since 2000, bought it brand spanking new. had lots of fun with the car, lots of long nights and slim bank statements because of heR. i think its might be time for me to move on.
i could use the money for our family business.
its a 2000 py ITR #1235
48k miles
clean title
no oem parts included
its turbocharged, built motor, making 446 whp and 390ft
apex suspension, advan rg wheels, hondata. plus....(will post pics later)
what have they been selling for?
what should i expect?
i know what i want to ask, but isit too much?
where should i sell it, here, ebay, cars.com?
i would like about $21,000.

You could also sell parts off to people, you might make closer to your estimated $21000, for example I might be interested in your advan rg's!
It depends on the stuff mentioned above and also if there's someone out there with the coin to drop $21k because they sure as hell won't get that from a bank on a 7-8 year old car. You might be better off selling parts IMO and then depending on the condition of the car you could get 14-15k

i know i might be asking a bit of a high price.
but i will list the parts, and let me know what you guys think!
plus i will post some pics.
but where should i post this car?
ebay, honda-tech, local threads, cars.com

I have considered selling my R every now and then but never end up following through. You've had your R since day one so you know that car's history and if you sell it and want an R again you'll never have that feeling. I think you might be asking much but you never know someone might have the money to buy it. GL with the sale.
Boosted R's done 100% right without cutting any corners and using quality parts go for 19-22k. Generally all having over 400 WHP. As long as your mod list justifies it you'll be fine, but you may be playing the waiting game for a while. You really need the perfect buyer for a boosted R. Good luck.

ha i saw you driving on 94 coming from chicago and thought it was my friends yellow type r turbo, but he doesn't have the gold wheels and I have to say your car looks amazing. Good work and good luck if you decide to sell it
i cant see anyone parting with that car... absoulutly b-e-a-utiful. u just looking to get out of the scene then? and if u are looking to sell it u prob would be better off parting aftermarket parts out... GL on ur sale thou
selling a boost R is tricky. I dont even think I would bother trying to sell mine with the turbo setup. not many people are into 400+whp ITRs. if you can put it back to stock or close to it you are probably better off.
she looks very clean though

I'm in Illinois and I have seen the car in person and let me be the first to say that the car is super duper MINT!!! One owner should add to the value of the car. I have seen others asking for more that $21k for a Turbo R that doesn't even have a built motor, clutch or proper fuel management. Not trying to give out more specs for him but the car is done from top to bottom. Tranny, clutch, bottom end etc. etc... knowing how much it cost to build and tune a car from top to bottom and the condition of the body and chassis, I would say the car is worth at least $25k. Seeing it through the eyes of someone that has built a couple of cars:
- Sleeved bottom end with pistons rods etc - $4000K
- Tranny and clutch -$2500
- Turbo kit- $3000
- Fuel management- $600
-Tuning costs- $500
-Advan RGs- $2000
-Suspension- $1200
-exhaust- $600
- guages/ electronics- $600
But with all that said, I know that you would get about $21k at the most as is. A lot of people want something stock or something that they can work on. This is a car that is already worked out and all you have to do is put the car in gear and drive it. When it comes to a turbo car or race car, people like to build it on their own. Parting the car would be a lot of work, seeing that you have a built motor in there and you can't really restore it back to stock without dropping a stock motor in there (then the VINs wouldn't match). You only have 48,000 miles on there, so you should be able to get a decent price as is. I would say keep it and track the car, so you can get a better time slip for that bad boy (IW is coming up this Sunday, you can use my slicks)
Only thing I would probably do if I was selling it, is sell the rims separately and put stockers or rotas on there and list the car for $19,500. Just to get the price under $20k.
If you part it out completely, I'll buy the chasis!!

i do want to sell the car, but then again i dont... like i said i was toying with the idea...
i just dont want the car to sit for ever.... i work 7 days a week so there is no time to go to the track, of out for a cruise.
but i might have to rethink this,
