Aluminum bolt on exhaust piping, will it gave?
Yeah so I was putting on the downpip and realized I need bolts and nuts. Went to home depot and got the aluminum bolts and nuts and came home. Then it hit me, will it stand up to the heat?
Also I put washer on both side of bolt and nut, after tightning it, I see the nut grabbed 3/4 of the threads. I figured there is no pulling on either side of the pipe it shouldn't break or anything, but still worried about the possible heat problem. Anyone know little more about this stuff?

the washers i picked up kinda warped a little bit but did not break and kept its hold. the thread nothing else is affect by the heat. just make sure you dont do any wrenching when the car is hot or you have the possibility of stripping your bolts. and the socket gets stuck to the bolt too.

Personally, I would look for Aircraft grade hardware. I use them when I would building racing motors for VW bugs. Light and very, very tough. The down side is that it is very expensive as well.

wow man, that's some serious hardware provider. Reminds me of the days in the Navy searching for parts to fix auxiliary stuff. I'll probably go by Ace or something instead... lol Thanks for the info though
Heat won't be a problem, it's the bolts that rust that might cause problems. My previous Greddy turbo kits came with aluminum and stainless nuts/bolts.
