exhaust manifold smoking

Default exhaust manifold smoking

alright im stumped....my valve cover seal was leaking oil all over my exhaust heat shield but i have since replaced it. it no longer leaks any oil. i de-greased the motor and its spotless...but my manifold still smokes a little...i cant identify the smell....but it doesnt smell like oil and the smoke is light.... any opinions will help me solve this problem

Here is my technical analysis of this problem: it burning off crap, give it a couple days.

i considered this....but most people said it should burn off in a few minutes.
idk...thats probably what it is, ill give it a few days and see.

when i replaced my manifold the same thing happened, turned out to be the new ring gasket connecting the downpipe to the manifold. it went away after a day or two. just the gasket getting broken in i guess

dont know if this is whats going on with you but sounds similar

crap on the manifold should only smoke for a few minutes.. not days.

found the problem....oil pan gasket leaking on the header pipe...i'll fix it tomorrow
