Default Spoon N1 Questions (Spoon Dealers please read)

I posted a thread a few days ago about having difficulties with a retailer, read about it here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=202079
What I basically need to do now is prove that there is a newer N1 with larger piping and no bottleneck. Just wondering if any of the Spoon dealers on this board would be able to help me.

When did the Spoon N1 have the bottleneck removed and piping changed? How can I prove to this guy that there is a Spoon N1 with no bottleneck and larger piping? Thanks in advance.

Notice the difference in piping.

The infamous bottleneck

I think you can tell which is new, and old.

Both have the hole pre-drilled for the silencer.

Enjoy.

I am not a dealer, but hope this helps.

Thanks Bryan. I showed these pics to him and he claims that:
"The Spoon N1 in those pictures is fake, because Spoon is very popular in the US market and there are a lot of fakes going around"

Why don't you contact Spoon Japan directly and forward the emails to them?

I have tried contacting Spoon directly several times, but no responses. I have IMd most of the Spoon dealers on the board (Typermsm, AJ PwR, FAST4DR) about this thread, hopefully they can help me prove that there is a newer N1.

I will give any of the dealers $25USD if they can help me get my money back from this guy by proving that there is a newer N1. The question is, how can it be proved?

Can't you make a complaint to Spoon directly and let them know one of there retailers are bullsh**ing you. I am assuming you have never bolted it on right? You should have every right to change it or get your money back, but you need to rant and rave. Report them to Spoon directly, they'll probably be unhappy that one of there retailers are uneducated of there own products.

The other option is to take it to a muffler shop locally and have the pipe moded.... but I wouldn't do that unless you are trully stuck with it.

I am disappointed in the fact that Spoon would create this useless and pointless bottleneck... Mike @ IPS Racing, is the just the man you need to speak with, he will help you in your efforts to prove that Spoon made one with and without a bottleneck.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, if I'm right then he'll lose a lot of money.

I've tried constantly to contact Spoon but have got no replies.

It is a bottle neck, but it's necessary to get it attached to the stock b pipe, flange and donut gasket. Remember everyone, this muffler is meant to be used with stock b-piping.

Cut the flange off, flare out the inlet, and weld on a true 2.5 inch flange and bolt it back together. Problem solved.

Yup that's a good point. Why they made it to bolt right up with stock B pipe is related to their low-mid range power and throttle response theories around the corners.

To me, that bottle neck on the muffler doesn't restrict your exhaust flow THAT MUCH, if you don't have hi-lift cams, hi CR engine internal and some crazy tuning. I won't mind having a lil bottleneck on my R.

I kinda hate waiting for response when I am exiting a corner during auto-x.

to increase throttle response, the butt plug silencer certainly increases low end torque... i believe this was done simply so that more people with stock b-pipes would buy from them. you all may love spoon, but i seriously question some of their methods. spoon is cool, but the only products i really want from them cost too much, ie. rims, carbon kelvar pieces, etc.

I'm sure im missing something here, so here's my question. If the newer N1's got rid of the bottleneck and are 2.5", then does it still match up with the stock b-pipe flange? or does it need to match up with another 2.5"?
