Default 1995 Civic LX: A/C recharge hose doesn't fit charger port

A/C Recharge Hose

Refill the low pressure black side right?

For some reason it doesn't fit or stay on, AC just leaks out when I try to connect the hose

You're sure your hose is for R134a? That's really the only thing that I can think of... You are correct in using the port with the cap with the "L" on it.

Yeah I'm positive its for R134a, and I would refill the top black hose right?

You have the connections for a R12 not R134. You need to buy a retrofit kit. Mine cost like 10 bucks..

All the kit is really is 2 adapters. You screw on the adapters. Once you do, now you can just "clip" the R134 hose.

The adapters are what you need.

Just took this picture of my car for you. If your car is a 95, I'm not sure why your system has a R12 fitting.

The adapters simply screw on and that's it. Takes 12 seconds to install.

the lines on 92 and early 93's where still r-12 which is what op has ,r-134a is a larger port , like already said, you just need a retrofit kit availible at any parts store or you can pay up for r-12 about $65 a 12oz can around here , I'd add the fitting's , dont put in to much 134 as it has a runs at higher pressure's
the car must have had lines changed somewhere down the line , also you want to add the freon to the line going to the compressor which is the "suction " side or low pressure side
