Default How do remove A/C evaporator assembly?

I've been trying to get out the fan housing to diagnose and replace parts, and I'm having trouble pulling out the evaporator. The thread is here:

I have to go back to the library, but how do I remove the large A/C evap assembly to the left of the fan?

When I took the ac out of my hf I just unbolted the 2 lager connectors at the firewall in the engine bay to the ac lines, then I removed the glove box, then just unbolted the brackets that hold it up,and it dropped right down. CAUTION ,you will need to take the car to have the ac system drained before you do this. a local shop that does ac systems can do this for you.

Eh, **** up a rope! I guessed that the system would drench me with freon if I just yanked on the hoses. How much is a drain/recharge?

Other than the fact that the Freon must be removed first-here goes.
Take out the glove box and the horizontal bracket that is behind it. Under the hood on the firewall you will see a very large nut on a piece of pipe and another directly below that one. They both get disconnected.
Back under the dash-there are 2 retaining brackets for the evaporator case that come off next. There is also a connector that gets released. You may need to take out several other screws and then the assembly will come out from inside. The drain tube will also be attached to the case.
Oh and if you need a blower, resistor pack on a working housing-I've got one (just e-mail)
Good luck-should take no more than 30 minutes.

You could just crack the nuts free and let it vent ino the air , but thats not legal and it also screws up the ozone. I would rather do it the right way and take it somewhere.
