Default What would be a fair trade?

I don't know if I should have posted this here or not, if someone has a problem with it, just report it and move it please.

So here is the question:
I currently have a 1997 Honda Civic DX Hatchback and it is getting a little boring for me. I would like to stay with hatchbacks, and hondas, so I was thinking maybe an EG. I wouldn't want to put down any cash on top of a trade, so if my chassis has 200,000 on it, motor is d16z6 with about 170,000, and tranny is about 90,000, what would be a fair trade in the terms of an eg? My car has minimal mods, just I/H/E, chipped P28 from Phearble.net, but the body is pretty good and interior.

Just looking for opinions on what people may have seen in the terms of trades before. Thanks.

yea, but after 2.5 years, it's a little boring. plus obd1 swaps are so much cheaper.

are you tallking directly trade with someone for their eg? if you get a hatch, its either an Si or a base model.... id say get an Si and put a lil extra down for it - you'd love it, sun roof, 4wheel disc, tweeters... mmmm

yea, I suppose I would spring for the si model.

if that's the case, how much would you think I would have to put down on top of my car? I know this probably depends on the condition of the other car, but we are just looking for rough ideas as this was an idea that popped into my head so i thought I would look into it.

well, your car is worth around 2-4g, and an Si in nice condition is about 3-5g. so maybe 500 bucks to 1,500 bucks. I picked up a mint 95 Si from San Fransisco last June, mechanically super healthy, body is a ****** time warp along with the interior, no rust, no wear makrs, pretty much perfect... and it was 5,000... that being said everything is more expensive in cali and it was from a dealer too. hey, i know what i want!

and you could probly find the car you like and buy it then turn around and sell your car, with gas prices as they are, someone will buy it and commute with it.

i actually use to sell new hondas in minneapolis... now im at acura
