Funky throttle response
So i just got a 07 si, i already noticed 3rd gear is kinda notchy and i already see that posted. Also when i blip the throttle to take off from the line sometimes it has instant throttle response and sometimes it barely moves the tach. Anyone else have this problem. (And yes i'm using the same amount of throttle every time, i've even tried hittin the floor and it barely responds) Once the car is moving the throttle seems fine.
Funny you should post this. I have an EX Coupe however, but I have noticed enough hesitation on every shift that it causes the car to "jolt" for lack of a better word. Real pain in the butt! Anoying!
u coulda searched about this question too. I think theres a few thread on the main page asking about this... its called drive by wire. Supposedly a reflash can help with that response. VSA is traction control, it wont have an effect on the throttle until youre losing traction

if your gonna smash the throttle from a dead end start...and probably pop the clutch...VSA has something to do with that. go try it in your Si.

I have an EX Coupe, not an Si so I dont have VSA traction control. I sure wish I did! I agree, it could be the drive by wire, seems its not as immediate as the drive by cable. I will get used to it, I better since I have over 10k miles on the car now! Thanks everybody for your input.

The only throttle problem I have had in my 07 Si is sometimes when i shift ito third the car lags for a good second before pickup back up speed, and that is during normal driving conditions...

whether yer going to burn out or start normally has nothing to do with the initial throttle response. VSA isnt predicting how aggressively youre gonna engage the clutch

Its not a function of VSA or traction. I'm talking about blipping the throttle with the clutch fully depressed and getting hesitation. *Edit* It happens from stoplight to stoplight, without changing the a/c or anything else. Sometime the throttle response is instant and sometimes it barely moves the tach. Then of course i get rolling and the gas kicks back in and it makes the car jump. Now that i think about it though i don't know what kind of gas the dealer sold me the car with. I remember the salesguy said it'll run on 87 (i know it states it requires premium), i'm hoping maybe its just that they sold it to me with crap gas.

well ive had that... when i have the a/c on i have to give the engine more gas to go, but when the a/c is off the throttle is more responsive... (im talking from a normal launch) and if you didnt change your climate control make sure you are not in defrost (the a/c will be on and your a/c light will not come on) thats another topic though.... sorry as i read it it sounds confusing... bare with me here lack of sleep..
