I'm going to try Meguiars 3 step system. Start with the Cleaner, then Polish then Wax. I'm going to do it next week or something. I really trust Meguiars. They don't leave all these other craps on the car.

Cleaner for removing Oxidation and small scratches. You could try Scratch-X for your semi big scratches. Never tried either yet. But heard lots of people had good results
Polish is polish. and as for Wax, instead of using Meguiars, I'm going to use NanoWax. Good stuff!!!

You could take it a step further and get claybar.

I have had good results using Meguiars ScratchX for removing stubborn dirt and light scratches.

Before you consider painting, at least try some scratchx first. You can get it at kragen or autozone for less $10 a bottle.

Are the light, meduim or heavy swirls or random scratches?

have you read the post on hand detailing check it out and see if it can help?

ScratchX took out a big scratch that was primer deep on my hood. Got it from a cat that fell off my hood... Looks brand new now, cant even tell there was a scratch there.
