Default Fuel system question, priming possible?e

I was curious if the pump was inline/external, and was pulling the fuel up out of the pump, would that work? I'm curious because I'd like to use my current Fuel Pump assembly, but that would require dropping a hose down into the tank with a filter and priming itself up and out of the tank. I'm not all the experienced with external setups and there seems to be alot of people with insane fuel systems on here.

you would need a pump that can LIFT fuel, basically a "puller", not a "pusher". Bosch 0 580 254 044 and most Weldon pumps are "pullers" and would work in this situation. unless you need more than 700 hp, the Bosch unit would be fine. And you bascially have the concept correct, you could run a hose from the fuel pump assembly to a fuel pickup sock/filter that sits on the bottom of the tank.
