15x7 & 16x7 TE-37 Question...
me if this has been discussed too many times.i'm checking out some 15x7 & 16x7 te-37's fo' da R and was wondering if anyone has/had experience with these wheels and sizes.
i referred to the holy itrca.com wheel guide <http://www.itrca.com/faq/wheel_guide.asp>. very nice guide btw. however, i couldn't find an entry for the 15" te-37. i did find in the guide that the recommended offset for the 16" te-37 is 43mm.
i have two (2) major questions:
1. (short one) does anyone know a preferrable offset for the 15x7 te-37's for the type r?
2. (long one) i checked out the Mackin Industries Site and found that the 16x7 te-37's are available with a +42mm offset. then i looked at IPSRacing.com and found that they offer 16x7 te-37's with a +45mm offset. to top it off, the ITRCA Wheel Guide recommends a +43mm offset. which of the three are correct? are te-37's offered in 42mm, 43mm, & 45mm? and of the ones that volk racing does make, which offset is the best?
sorry if this post is confusing...i just wanna sort some of this confusion out and get me some rims! thanks!!!
just to throw a money wrench in it all...do these sizes still apply if you get a coilover setup?
thanks B2, Hybrid ctr, & 98R-1144 for some confidence builders

What do you mean, I don't understand your question???
That's true for the stock rim (6" wide). But for a 7" wide rim, I think it would be different to make sure the rims clear the suspension arms or am I thinking wrong?
The correct offset for the itr is +50.
Imagine offset this way, +50 will be nicely tucked in the wheel well, and +30 your car will look like a lowrider

I know everyone says this all the time... but,
if you don't track or autoX, go with 16x7" rims w/ 215/45/16 tires. The handling is a lot crisper than with 15" combo. And, with Volk's, your 16" rims will only weigh a few pounds more... which to me is not a big deal for street application.

I too would like to know if 15x7 wheels with +43 offset would fit on an ITR with lowered stance (say 1-2" lower than stock).

+50 will have a wider track than +30.
Assuming the wheels are exactly the same except for offset,
+50 will have a wider track than +30.

I want these
The wheels on the first pic look kinda dark 'cuz of the lighting.
