I need to replace my motor
I have a D16A6 (89 crx) and my timing belt broke. I pulled the head and found a big hole in piston 3 and valves gone. So I found another D16A6 motor w/out tranny and I want to install it. My question is can I just unbolt the tranny from the blown motor and swap blocks? Or do I have pull out the tranny too? It would seem to be easier if I don't have to mess with pulling axles/shift linkage and stuff like that.
thanks in advance.

WAY easier to pull the engine/trans as 1 piece. especially when it comes time to mate your trans to the new block. then reinstall as 1 piece.
most guys recommend doing it from under the car as well. i've only done it from the top because i never knew any better.

^^ X2...trying to put the motor and tranny together while juggling them in your bay is difficult...linkage and axles arent too bad....
