**** 2k, you can go any where to get it painted professionally. Don't ever go to maaco or earl scheib!!! Maaco heard a lot of horrible stories. Earl Scheib painted my car red and in 3 months that **** looks like pink. Those ****** just painted once and i don't think they even sanded the old painted down. If you want to save money do it yourself, it'll turn out better than those shitty places.

diy is better but your better off doing it at a paint booth. doing it at home can result in a big fine by the epa n ****

A couple I've dealt with:

R&A Autobody in Montclair = garbage
Gongoras Autobody in Pomona= real good, kinda pricey.

There's so many body shops in Ca, it's both good and bad.

truth about earl schieb/maaco/ etc etc.

the key is for you to do your own body work. When they prep, they spray a substance which softens up the current paint. What this does is give the new paint a surface to stick on. Although it does work, its not that great in quality.

Their stage 2 - is where they use a "dual action sanding process". In other words, they run a DA over the car. the DA (dual action sander) gives the paint a better surface to stick on, more so then the paint softner.

If you end up going to earl schieb, be sure to prep yourself and bring in your own paint - have them shoot it for you. The guys paint cars all day and they are more than profficent at this. Its extra for door jams and what not, but consider this route vs having them do the whole job for you.

just my 2 cents...

x2

Amazing work. They do the paint on a ton of the cars that make it into Honda Tuning.

I had some trim pieces, sideskirts, and my front lip painted there. Great work for a pretty decent price.
