Buy an old ENCO mill?
My boss is selling his old Enco vertical mill. The model number is either 9100 or 9700. The metal punch they used to stamp the plate isn't very clear. Does anybody know anything about this model? Is it worth getting? The table is about 2' x 8" or so. All the various cranks spin smoothly. Any other things I should check?

Jeez, give the guy a break, sounds like he's trying to give him a good price already. For those of you who don't know or realize it, most people don't like to get jewed down on price of things, especially if they're already giving a good deal.

So $600 is a good deal? I tired to find out the price of used milling machines but I haven't had too much luck.
FYI, it's not a free standing milling machine. It actually sits on a table that he made of course the table itself probably weighs about 100 lbs.

Sorry, i mis read the first post, i thought you said 2' by 8 foot, not 8 inches. Yeah, might not be the steal of a deal i thought it was off the bat. I wouldn't bother with a machine that size.
Oh, and i didn't mean to offend anyone with the "jewed" comment.
