Default cant decide what to do ( opinions please)

ive got an ed7 civic its a uk ef shape civic with a d16a9 engine very similar to the dohc you get in us
the cars original purpose was to be a runabout but i love it and want to make more power and i plan on altering its looks in a different way to the norm ie different coloured panels rust reapair to the point of primer but no paint etc and it will basically be completly rust free and mint condition but not look it

also im planning on some very good suspension uprades so it handles very well

but the trouble im having is deciding on what to use to power it i have got down to 3 choices

1-b18cr engine and box and some bolt ons

2- b16/b18 swap boosted (possibly rods and pistons depending on budget)

3- boost the hell out of the d16a9 and just keep replacing when it blows as these can be bought here for £50-£150 =$100-$300

ive done loadsa research and know what sort of pace and power i can expect from the b18cr and the b16/b18 with boost but can find very little info and examples of boosted stock dohc d16's (plenty on the z6 but not zc/a9)

whats your opinions and what would you choose

Seems like this post suggests the OP has more money than knowledge... please search and focus more on what you want the car to do "i.e. economy, autox, road racing, drag, DD"

its funny how people liike you get upset when people say they dont care.

honest truth is we dont care. what you want to do to your car is up to you.all you said was I want to make more power. if you want some actual responses give us some info on what you want. drag, autox, road racing daily. theres so many options.

well ive no idea what autox is over there but over here its racing round a muddy oval cucuit and we use things like these not hatchbacks

and its to a be a fun car for the weekend for time attacks drag fast road etc and to be solely focused on one of those the set up of the car is more important than the engine itself

all i wanted to know was if each of you were to personally build a car with a choice of one of those engine setups for whatever purpose you were building the car what would you choose and why

there is absolutely no point in telling you my budget for this project as everything cost more over here

Let me take a stab at this and I own 4 CRX's and I am the first person to attempt to help so please take back your comment. Provoke me though and I will have one crazy ticked off attitude.

What we are trying to say is you need to figure out what you want to do. If you want a car to do RR (Road Race closed circuit) and Auto-x (Auto-x = autocross, autocross = drive through a set of cones for best time) then great those are easy to do with one car.

Controversy, a drag and RR then you really have two different things going on. Straight line + handling typically don't net you the best 1/4 or lap time.

In the end what we are saying is if you want to set your car up for everything (drag, RR, Auto-X, & DD) you have a car that does nothing well.

I personally didn't like any of your choices. I prefer my LS/VTEC, OEM big brakes, R compound tires, good handling suspension but I am an RR HPDE instructor and that is what I am into is curves.

Also we are not building this car, you are so do what you want.

Don't get all butt hurt if someone says something you don't like.

thank you and sorry about the crx comment but its something i have noticed is that alot not all do have bad attitudes so i have edited slightly

we call autox autotest

handling is the most important thing altho i will be doing drag aswell but i know that to get the best a different suspension setup would be needed but i will make do

ls vtec? thats a b18 non vtec with a vtec head right????/
the only non vtec b series engine we get here is the b20 in the honda crv

i want atleast 220bhp na or 250+ boosted
