Default Should I re-use my piston rings?

I just re-built my motor 400 miles ago and spun a rod bearing. I am tearing it apart and replacing the crank and bearings. Should I get new rings as well? They were new when I re-built the motor.

It is a b18 bottom end. I beleive the rings were for a civic type r, oem Honda.

if you spun a rod bearing...wouldn't you get a rod knock which can cause piston slap and therefore mess up you rings and cylinder walls...I'd replace the rings just to be safe and check the clearance on your sleeves/cylinder walls.

How did you spin the bearing? The only way you will know if you could reuse the rings is by looking at them and seeing there conditions.

dont be cheap it will catch up to you in the end. if its apart you may want to have the rods checked and replace the rings no matter how old they are.

If you re-use the piston rings, they should be on the same pistons in the same cylinders as before the spun bearing, and the condition of the cyl walls and the piston rings should be checked.

I beleive what happened is either the clearances were too tight, or at one point I had two of the rod caps switched on the wrong rods and torqued them down. The engine would not turn. I realized my mistake and switched them back to the correct positions. I think I may have deformed the bearings when I did that.
