How's the power output? Do a compression test. Maybe one of your cylinders aren't firing? I mean, it'd idle like crap if it did.

attention ricer,
1. you have an F23
2. it will only rev to 5000 in neutral
3. it will only rev to 4000 in D4 with the brake held in
4. VTEC will not engage at low speeds (under 20 something iirc)
5. meaning VTAK wont hit while u bounce revs
6. the motor WILL redline if you floor it and you're moving faster than 35

He said he put it in D1 and floored it. As far as I know, I can get to redline in D1, with or without VTEC engaging. Give him a little bit more credit.

you got to figure out why the car is in limp home mode.........it is designed to protect the drive line when the ECU detects a serious probkem with a sensor

Can the knock sensor (if it detects severe knock) tell the ECU to go in limp mode?

You should check for error codes.

Bad motor? Bad ECU?? Are you serious?? You're only going to contribute to the long list of whiney-*** kids who further the stereotype that Accords (or Honda's in general for that matter) suck, because you beat the **** out of an automatic grocery-getter and break it. You've already shown without a doubt that you have no capacity to judge the "potential" of any car.

He's right. You have nearly NO potential with the auto transmission, and even with a five-speed, there is a lot of patience, skill, and money involved to get the most out of it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by H2290 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You should check for error codes.</TD></TR></TABLE> If you do have a Check Engine Light, you should take it to an autoparts store and have them check it, then go from there. In the mean time, stop beating the **** out of your car, or sell it and get something else. Atleast you'd be saving a perfectly good Honda.

^^ Leave it to this guy to start a completely irrelevant argument as always...

Yes, his accord with its automatic transmission has almost no potential.

3.2L V6 vs 2.3L I4. Not to mention the F23 tranny that's so prone to failure.

My 'vette has a tall-*** T200 auto tranny and runs an 11 sec 1/4 mile, but does that mean jack **** to this thread??

Apples to oranges... idiot.

You were better off sticking with your CEL comment.

i am not going to give you the runnaround. It sounds like vtec isn't engaging. if your oil is low, then your car wont rev past 4g. it happened to me in my 98 oil burner. the vtec pressure swith wasn't engaging throwing a cel though. check your oil and if that doesn't work, just take it to a shop.

you are retarded........end of story

no need to comment further as any moron that makes a statement that an auto accord has no potential obviously does not know WTF they are talking about.

It's called a TURBO or a SUPERCHARGER......and you can do that to any engine even if it is bolted up to an auto......lol since when does the fact that a car has an auto mean no potential?

lol some of you little kiddies have no clue and are better off sticking your head back up your rear end where it belongs.......

lol 2004R by FAR the WORST transmission GM ever built and they NEVER CAME IN A CORVETTE you are obviously thinking about 400R or 700R
