Default Spring rates ??

Just a question for any of you who hve a b16 or b18 in your ef. What spring rates do you have on the front? I want to get some G/C's, but I'm not sure what spring rate to go with in the front. I have a b18c in my 88 hf, any input would be great. Thanks in advance .

Yea, that's a good way to get help.

Did you consider:

1) maybe nobody knows the answer, since there is no right answer

2) there are tons of spring rate threads already that might help

Yeah I did consider that for a second, but knowing that here are a lot of people on here with these swaps I didn't ponder it very long.

As far as looking for the right answer, I was looking for suggestions and personal experience.

And as far as other threads goes I did not find the desired info when using the search function. Anything else? Thanks for the responce though

As a matter of fact, yes, there is.

Asking a question about spring rates will also require some information about dampers, since many of the GC/Eibach spring rates require a stiffer damper. I can't recommend a spring rate until I know what your price range is, because the GC's are the cheap part. Dampers are always more expensive, even for off-the-shelf Konis. Second, you didn't provide enough information about your car. Simply giving the trim level and the engine code won't get you many responses that you can use...too many other variables. It would help to know the weight of the car if it has been modified from stock, it's current handling characteristics, what you want to accomplish with the new suspension (how you want it to handle when you're done), what tires you're using or plan to use, the wheels you are running and their weight, what you use your car for (probably the most important piece of information), and what other suspension modifications you have made.

So you leave out this information, and then you get pissed when nobody answers your question.

I'm not pissed, I do however think you are just trying to insight an arguement over something very trivial. Now with that in mind I asked a simple question, all I expected was a simple answer. Not an in depth anyalisis of my suspension, just a couple of pointers and hints.

Now if you had asked for a little bit of insight I would have been happy to give it to you. It would have been very easy and this stupid little exchange could have been avoided.

If anyone else looking at this wants to know, this is just a daily driver, and might see a little bit of track and stip time. Other than that it is just to have some fun with, and it need's to be lowered that's all.

You've got me all wrong. I came into the thread to offer some help. Before I could do that, I saw that you had already replied with a "thanks for nothing" post. I simply reacted.

Now with that in mind I asked a simple question, all I expected was a simple answer. Not an in depth anyalisis of my suspension, just a couple of pointers and hints.
I'm not trying to make it more complicated than it needs to be. I just want you to get an answer that will actually be correct. The simple answer is "Run 350 up front and 400 in the rear." That might work for you, or it might be totally wrong. How would either of us know?

Now if you had asked for a little bit of insight I would have been happy to give it to you. It would have been very easy and this stupid little exchange could have been avoided.
The "stupid little exhange" happened in the first three posts, and you were the one that posted all three of them. I always ask for a little additional information if the question is a little vague. I didn't do that this time because I was sidetracked by how frustrated you had already become.

Well with all that out of the way, I'm really not looking to argue, it's just water under the bidge man. I might be getting edgy because of a little frustration with my car. I just want to get it done and do some driving.
