what's the perfect track temp./ambient temp.?
i'm assuming the hotter the track, the better it is for traction.....to a point.
I know that colder air=more power (density)
so what would be the best combination?

i mean what is the best combination to go drag racing
the closest track to me is firebird raceway in Glendale, AZ
right now the ambient temps. are anywhere from 100-115 degress. so track temp. is like 160-180 degress.
i'm going to get some slicks to see how my times improve, but i want to go when the temp.s would be cooler. understand?
like say 80-85 ambient and 120 track temp.

 

Brisk cold air and a nice warm track.

Seriously, just race. You'll have to learn how to set the car up for different conditions as you have no control over any of it.

see, i didn't know if the track was still good to race in the winter. ie 40-60

Oh, and just so you know, Firebird is in Chandler, and Speedworld Motorplex is in Surprise.(near Glendale)
