Dash Backlighting Out
I have a 91 Accord Wagon.
A little while ago the backlighting for my dash stopped coming on when I turned on my headlights. I soon found out that everything that usually happens when headlights are turned on (glove compartment light, clock dimming, chimes when the door's open) stopped working. I took it in and the mechanic replaced the appropriate fuse and all was well...
A month later the same problem happened again. This is no little fuse, it's a big cube under the hood and not cheap enough to just keep replacing. Anyone have a similar problem? Is something else in my electrics shorting out the fuse for some reason?
Also - the mechanic discovered an after-market alarm system that I didn't even know existed and suggested that it could be the cause of the problem, but that it would take a few hours to find out exactly. I don't have that kind of money -- any suggestions?
