Default Cleaning a K20A3?

Well, I'm going to my friends house today to take apart my K20A3 Long block, I was wondering what products should I use to clean it? And where and what I should not do while I'm cleaning it. ( I wouldnt want to mess up my block you know )

You just need to be careful around those parts, ie: no need to get simple green in the fusebox, lol.

haha, i have no idea how it's going to get there =P, it's a block, that's not even connected to my car.

alright so, when i clean the block and its nice & shiney, i won't have to lubricate it with anything right?

Great. So the harrassment begins. Don't bother me with ridiculous nit-picking in an attempt to discredit me, man. I actually try to help people.

heres a good rule of thumb (sorta)
if the chemical your using to clean makes your skin tingle after a while it might be too strong to clean you block with
you dont want to give your block cancer now..

But, seriously if your completly disassembling the motor then just dont be stupid and use anything to corrosive. It is metal now, its preaty tough

I used Simple Green on my block today and used Carb Cleaner on my Tranny. Both are coming out great.

When i was a detailer for Acura, we had some stuff that was called "wheel acid" it was diluted some but it still was strong enough to rip the finish off any aluminum wheel.

I would highly recomend simple green or engine degreaser. just be careful and you'll have a nice shinny block in no time.
