Default H22 accord vtech prob

I have a 96 accord with an H22 vtech swap and I have my vtech to kick in at 4500rpm. The problem I am having is that I can hear the vtech kick in the motor and exhaust get louder but I am simply not feeling any kick?? Is there any tips that you guys can give to help narrow things down to figure out what the deal is?

First I would start calling it VTEC as it is an acronym and not a phone brand. Secondly, I'm not quite sure what exactly you think you should feel. It's not like a jet after burner.

Sorry about that I feel like an idiot now. I'm not looking for any kind of crazy pull. I own a turbo car and I'm not expecting even that much of a pull but I always hear people saying it will toss you back some but not on mine.

I'll try that and see what happens thanks!

No, it wont toss you back, but like was mentioned reset the crossover at 5500rpm, I think 4500 is too low

i know VTEC is big as *** on your motor. IABs kick on around 4500 not vtec. that kicks on 5000-5200rpms

Dood when you go to 5000RPM, you're suppose to say VTEC out loud! then you'll feel the kick.

Anyways, VTEC is not suppose to throw you back. I felt a little kick when I switched to Quaker State Full synthetic. I know on the B-series you can totally hear it. Ummmm why don't you get some SRI intake. Maybe you'll feel a little kick. Maybe CAI.

yeah but engineers for Honda also have to figure in emissions, and even motor noise. yes the air box and small restrictive exhaust is on there for the people who don't want to hear there car at all.

When the VTEC kicks in, does it make your Cold Air Intake even louder?

Ok so I went ahead and reset my points for my s200 hondata and the vtec kicks in slightly above 5000. I also went for a ride in my friends 06' civic with vtec to see how his feels and I now have a better understanding of it and know how it feels and I believe my car is where it should be. Thanks for the help everyone!

I hear my Vtec kick, and you can feel the additional pull. CAI makes it a little louder...no intake is pretty loud too. then again the H22 is supposed to be the Vtec monster..moreso than a B series from my experience.
