Hey all, I just had a quick question about my motor, just these past 2 days my motor sounds a little different, higher pitched almost, and I can hear a whistling noise when i get to around 3k+ rpm's. I have no idea where to start looking for a problem and what not, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where does said "noise" come from? Are you just hearing a noise and thats it? No, change in driving? Under what conditions is it making said noise? Have you done anything to your car recently? Are you sure it's a whistle not a screech?Or whine?...?

 

I really don't know where exactly it's coming from, sorry for being undescriptive, it is more like a whine. I've don't nothing to the motor, it's completely stock, no changes in my driving since i've gotten it either.

 

A whine could be a pulley bearing failure, possibly alternator.
